The Pregnancy Yoga Chakras Course is a course of six classes, suitable for both beginners and those with more yoga experience.

In the yogic philosophy, the chakras are energy centres located in different areas of the body.

I have used the chakra system as inspiration for this six week Pregnancy Yoga course. Each class focuses in detail on the specific area of the body associated with each chakra, while also providing an overall full body stretch. We aim to release tension and get energy flowing in each specific area to bring all the best energetic and physical qualities of that chakra into being.

I know that pregnancy is a time of wildly changing hormones and anxiety and stress can increase. Yoga is the perfect stress reduction technique and it has helped me beat anxiety and low mood at many times in my life, pregnancy included.

Each class also builds on hypnobirthing techniques so that you will gain a tool box of breathing and visualisation techniques for labour. There are also other delicious relaxations included throughout the course.

This course will allow you to build flexibility gradually, and melt away tension in your muscles, allowing them to be toned and supple.

You will learn how to improve your posture and keep it great as your body changes with your precious growing baby.

Each class will help you build strength in your entire body, ready for an active labour. Lots of tips are given on how to encourage baby into optimal foetal position for birth and you will learn helpful positions for labour and birth.

We explore our basic hypnobirthing breath in more depth, adding powerful visualisations to the practice.

Class Three | Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) | Core Strength in Pregnancy | 55 mins

Strengthen your core safely during pregnancy.

We want certain muscles of the core to be soft, allowing your bump to grow, yet other core muscles to be toned and strong, so they can support your baby bump, your posture, and help you birth your baby.

Energetically your core is the sunshine in your body, the ‘powerhouse’ that keeps you going. This class will get you motivated!

Melt away back and shoulder tension.

Breathe deep, improve lung capacity (especially good when baby is invading your rib cage!) which helps give you more energy, relieve anxiety and lift your mood.

Energetically, the throat area is associated with sound, and our ability to communicate effectively.

As a mama-to-be and a new mum, it is essential to be able to communicate your needs, as well as effectively gain social support and discourse.

Class Six | Higher Chakras (Third Eye and Crown) | Balance & Connection | 50 mins

A dreamy, uplifting class, focusing on balance, with a strongly grounding finish, to leave you feeling a supreme sense of peace along with safety and security in your body and mind.

Energetically we connect with the higher energy centres of the body, located in the head which form your attunement with others and your intuition.

An empowered birth is absolutely all about following your intuition, and so is the connection and bond you will form with your beautiful new baby!
